Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Neal Brothers Classic Barbeque Sauce
- 1 can navy beans, rinsed
Toppings: Grated parmesan, chopped parsley
Directions:
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, season with a pinch of salt and saute for 3 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and continue to cook the mixture for another 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, stir in the barbeque sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add beans and stir to coat them in the sauce. Simmer over low heat for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent things sticking. Taste and season with more salt and pepper.
- Top buttered bread with beans and finish with grated parmesan, parsley and a squeeze of lemon (optional).
